Hazardous Materials Spills & Cleanup

This course is designed by First-Aide Safety, Health and Training Consultants to provide course participants with the appropriate information on the risks, associated hazards and consequently the dangers of working with chemicals and how to respond in the correct and timely manner should a hazardous material/chemical spill occur within the workplace.

Management, supervisors, health and safety personnel and employees who use chemicals as part of their daily working life should attend these courses in order to attain adequate training as set out in the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005.

Employers and employees need to be aware of the correct safety procedures in order to react to a chemical spill effectively, for example activating the emergency services, providing emergency response teams where applicable and liaising with the emergency services upon arrival at scene.
